Social Media Content Creator

During my master's in Visual Journalism, I worked part-time as a content creator for the University of South Wales. This included being given briefs that I had to complete through filming local areas, myself and other voice-over work.

I also helped come up with ideas for content and had to work with the media team within the university. The content I created was used on various platforms including Instagram, Twitter, TikTok and Facebook. 

I have also taken over the University of South Wales-related Instagram pages such as @USWCreative. For example, during the launch of a student photography exhibition I filmed and interviewed people at the event posting it on Instagram stories to celebrate. I have also taken over their Instagram pages on open days and during The Immersed Music Festival Events. 

This is my first experience working on social media with a large following. The University of South Wales has 85 thousand followers on Facebook, 39 thousand on Twitter and 26 thousand on Instagram.

I have been currently undertaking part-time work with them helping manage their internal marketing, specifically their social media on both Instagram and Linkedin. They felt their social media and internal marketing were lacking in organisation and uploading of regular content. In my role, I have been in specifically charge of social media management including organising the uploading of content, monitoring social media interaction and editing videos and photos.

During my time I also helped with the launch of new campaigns and new services to clients. My role was to help organise how these new services would be presented on social media My work has to coordinate with the conversations account managers have with clients and other marketing strategies including, teaser pages, launch websites and newsletters.

Do Digital Agency also have a sister company called ''Easy Avodado' a graphic design company. In my role, I am helping them begin to develop the smaller following they have on their accounts on Linkedin and Instagram.

Working with Pontypridd United gave me an exciting opportunity to edit videos and conduct videos for social media. I got to experience making content for matches and in the sports setting.

I also got to write several match previews and match repots.

During University, I took on a part-time job to allow me to support my studies I am a team leader and have extra such as managing team members' roles and responsibilities during shifts, closing and opening stores, money handling and dealing with refunds. This shows I have been able to take on multiple different roles in a team and work in a high-pressure environment.

I have also taken on the extra responsibility of helping manage our social pages including TikTok and Instagram. My role is to create ideas, direct the filming, edit, and upload the videos online regularly. It is a great opportunity to expand my skills in creating serious and comedic content. My videos often get over 1,000 views on TikTok.

I have also become part of 'The Change Makers' in which The Bodyshop UK brand gives briefs and inspirations to focus on certain products and trends.
